Guidelines for Mississippi Educator Licensure
All Mississippi educators must meet licensure guideline requirements as certified teacher and administrators and to be highly qualified. The Guidelines for Licensure K-12 is a handbook of all licensure requirements approved by the Mississippi State Board of Education for all types of teacher and administrator licensure and certification required by law. All guideline changes require action by the State Board of Education.

MS Five Year Educator License - Psychometrist:

• License - Class AA
• Validity - 5 Years
• Renewal - Three (3) semester hours in content or job/skill related area - or - Five (5) continuing education units (CEUs) in content or job/skill related area
• Requirements - (Either)
  1. Hold a five year teaching license
  2. Complete a master's degree program in psychometry - or - Hold a master's degree in another area and complete an approved program for psychometry - or -
  1. Complete an approved master's degree program in psychometry.
  2. Praxis I ( Pre-Professional Skills Test - PPST )

MS Five Year Educator License - School Psychologist:

• License - Class AAA
• Validity - 5 Years
• Renewal - Three (3) semester hours in content or job/skill related area - or - Five (5) continuing education units (CEUs) in content or job/skill related area
• Requirements
  1. Complete an approved specialist degree or equivalent program in school psychology approved by the National Association of School Psychologist - NASP
  2. Praxis I (Pre-Professional Skills Test - PPST)
  3. Praxis II (Specialty Area for School Psychology)
  
  
• License - Class AAAA
• Validity - 5 Years
• Renewal - Same as for AAA
• Requirements
  1. Meet the requirements for a Five Year Class AAA License
  2. Doctoral degree in psychology
